Where To Compete

Where To Compete *

  • Kansas City Barbeque Society is a competitive cooking organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, famous for Kansas City BBQ. It is the largest competitive barbecue organization in the world, with more than 15,000 members.

  • At the Rib Cook Off Association, the mission is to work hand in hand with promoters to organize events that not only elevate the sport of BBQ ribs but also create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for the communities hosting these exciting gatherings.

  •  Do you cook the best steak in your neighborhood?  Are you the king of your cul-de-sac? Bring your backyard skills to an SCA sanctioned cookoff and compete for cash, trophies, prizes at a one day event. The SCA's primary focus is STEAK, but we also conduct ancillary categories to challenge cookers and involve the entire family. Our goal is to create a fun relaxed environment and a fair competition.

Inside our World

From practice cooks to classes, competitions, and everything between, we’re sharing our progress as we work toward our best season yet. Check out the latest updates from the pit.

Leveling Up for 2026 - -

New for 2026 - we’ve taken our first BBQ class!

This year, we’re leveling up. In January, we took our first class from Brad Leininger—Food Network’s BBQ Brawl runner-up, multiple time KCBS Team of the Year and one of the best pitmasters competing in Competition BBQ anywhere. We’ll be sharing what we adjust and giving an honest look at what we’ve learned. Be sure to follow along as we test recipes, rebuild our timelines, and prep for our next run at major competitions.
